Why architects specify OKALUX

01
Even, shadow-free daylight
Capillary slabs in the cavity diffuse natural light deep into rooms. No hot spots, no glare.
02
Adjustable transmission
Light transmission, TSET, and Ug-values tuned per project. Not off-the-shelf. Specified.
03
Facade-uniform formats
Large-format insulating glass maintains visual consistency across complex facade geometries.
04
Bird-friendly glazing
Diffused capillary structure meets bird-safe building standards, meaningful for LEED Pilot Credit 55 and municipal ordinances.

Five product families. One manufacturer.

OKALUX groups its glazing into five families, each solving a different architectural problem: daylight diffusion, expressive daylight, solar control, metal-mesh, or wood-slat aesthetics. Each family contains multiple variants tuned to specific performance and size requirements.

OKALUX
Capillary daylighting

Capillary slabs in the cavity diffuse daylight evenly and glare-free, deep into the room. Also blocks UV and thermal gain. Standard spec for museums, schools, and sports halls.

KAPILUX
Partial transparency

Same capillary core as OKALUX, without the tissue layer. Silhouettes and shadows remain faintly visible through the glass — a luminous partial vision that diffuses daylight while preserving a sense of the world beyond.

Sun protection grids

Three-dimensional reflective grids in the cavity block direct solar transmission at any sun height, while admitting diffuse daylight from the north sky. Optimized for south-facing and roof applications.

Metal mesh inserts

Mandarin, Kiwi, Aluminum, or Copper mesh sealed inside the IGU cavity, delivering directional solar control, partial vision, and the architectural texture of woven or expanded metal, with no exterior maintenance ever required. Four finishes. One sealed system.

Wood slat inserts

Real hardwood slats sealed inside the IGU cavity deliver directional solar control and the warmth of wood grain with no exterior maintenance. Three species: White Seraya, Beech, Obeche.

OKACELL
Photovoltaic glazing

Monocrystalline photovoltaic cells embedded between the panes generate electricity while OKALUX capillary slabs in the cavity diffuse daylight without glare. The only OKALUX product where the building envelope is also energy infrastructure. Specified for LEED, BREEAM, and net-zero projects.
