The photovoltaic layer
Monocrystalline cells, sealed for life.
Standard 4x4 cell arrays of monocrystalline silicon are laminated between toughened glass panes. The cells generate electricity from direct solar radiation that would otherwise heat the building. Cell coverage is configured per project to balance daylight transmission, solar control, and energy yield.
The capillary layer
OKALUX core, diffuse daylight without glare.
Behind the photovoltaic layer, capillary slabs in the IGU cavity scatter the remaining daylight evenly into the room. This is the same OKALUX capillary core used across the family, proven daylight diffusion, no glare, no hot spots on the floor or ceiling, no operable shading required.
The integration
Energy infrastructure as building envelope.
OKACELL is specified where the building envelope is expected to do more than enclose. LEED, BREEAM, and net-zero projects use OKACELL where the daylighting strategy and the energy-generation strategy can be the same envelope decision. The cells, the capillary slabs, and the IGU are factory-assembled as one sealed unit. No exterior maintenance for the life of the building.
