OKASOLAR

Sun protection grids built inside the insulating glass.

Three-dimensional metal grids integrated into the IGU cavity that reflect high-angle direct solar radiation while admitting diffuse daylight. Four variants tuned for facade orientation, sun angle, and grid visibility. All hermetically sealed, permanent, and maintenance-free.

01/ 08

Direct sun blocked. Diffuse daylight admitted.

OKASOLAR's three-dimensional metal grid is geometrically tuned so that steep-angle direct radiation (the high summer sun that overheats a facade) is reflected back out before it reaches the interior. Lower-angle diffuse skylight passes through the cavity and into the room.

Geometry, not coating

Solar control through form

OKASOLAR achieves solar control through the three-dimensional shape of its metal grid, not through a tinted coating. Views out remain clear, color rendering stays neutral, and the glazing performs the same way year after year without coating degradation.

Sealed inside the IGU

Permanent, maintenance-free

The grid sits inside the hermetically sealed cavity. No exterior shading device, no moving parts, no cleaning access required. The building facade remains a single flush plane, with the solar control built invisibly into the glass.

Climate-tuned

Four variants for orientation

The grid geometry changes between variants: OKASOLAR F for facades, P for directional privacy, S for roof and overhead glazing, 3D for complex overhead geometries. Specifying the right variant for each building elevation delivers the highest performance.

02/ 08

Four geometries. Pick the one for your orientation.

Each OKASOLAR variant uses a different grid geometry optimized for a different orientation and solar angle. Reference specifications below; specific performance values depend on glass build-up, cavity dimension, and coating selection. Final specs confirmed on request.

04/ 08

Engineered for performance.

01
Construction
Highly reflective aluminum main louvres with reflective-coated plastic cross ribs. Hermetically sealed in the cavity between glass panes.
02
Maintenance-free
Louvres are permanently protected inside the insulated glass unit. No exterior shading device, no moving parts, no cleaning access required.
03
Bird-safe glazing
Visible louvre structure provides bird protection. Helps meet LEED Pilot Credit 55 and municipal bird-friendly building ordinances.
04
Sustainable
Fully recyclable materials. Reduces artificial lighting loads and cooling demand. Contributes to optimized building energy balance.
05/ 08

Four variants. Every glazing condition.

Each OKASOLAR variant is engineered for a specific glazing condition: facade orientation, overhead exposure, or a dual privacy/daylight role. Pick by where the glass goes and what the sun does there.

01

Roof & overhead glazing

Overhead glazing where direct sun must be blocked but diffuse daylight and partial sky view are essential. S uses horizontal louvres tuned to overhead sun geometry; 3D uses a three-dimensional grid that passes diffused light while eliminating direct transmission.

South-facing facades

South facades with high summer sun and useful winter gain. F's O louvre type redirects daylight deep into the room while reflecting direct solar irradiation; U type reflects more irradiation outside. Both can combine in one unit.

Directional privacy + custom geometries

P handles directional privacy on urban facades: vertical louvres that stay transparent one way, screened the other. 3D handles custom overhead geometries: sports halls, complex roofs, multi-directional sun. Both are project-specific.
